Always remain thankful for every little blessing. It brings more blessings your way!

I have always wanted a Land Rover vehicle. They are rugged yet luxurious. I love that a Land Rover truck can practically go verticle if needed on hilly or rugged terrain but drive like a dream on the road.

The LR4 is my kind of vehicle. First the visibility when driving its amazing. You can see everything on the road. It is sturdy. When driving a LR$ you feel safe and it has the highest safety rating. More importantly, for busy on the go Moms, it has 7 roomy seats. The seating is perfect for play dates and baseball gear, and warehouse shopping. Kids need a lot of room for their stuff.

But it also has butter leather seats, heated seats and steering wheel, dual zone automatic climate control, double sunroofs with blinds (HOT), and Bluetooth and IPod connectivity, and and remote steering wheel audio controls.

Yes, the Land Rover LR4 is my kind of vehicle. I just need to make a little more money so I can afford the maintenance!

Luxetips Beauty! Night Out: Lancôme Smokey Eyes and NARS Rosy Cheeks

Hello Divas!

Friday I had a rare opportunity for a night out on the town. I tried to do it up, so I had a good time playing dress up and getting Glam!

I created a smokey eye with Lancôme’s Ombre Magnetique eyeshadow. It is a glittery intense black eyeshadow that I just adore. I then applied Lancôme’s Hypnose Doll Lashes for the complete smokey eye effect.

I used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage concealer set to my blemishes and underneath my eye. I LOVE this concealer. It brightens while also concealing imperfections.

Lastly I applied NARS Exhibit A blush to my cheeks and Lancôme’s Color Fever Hotness lip gloss to my lips. Results? A Glam Night Out Face!

As my Mom would say: sometimes you just have to shrug, dust your shoulders off and keep moving. Wisdom.

I am itching to get some higher temperatures and some sun in a bad way. I keep dreaming of blue blue skies, the bright sun and glorious beaches. Yes, I am experiencing the Winter Blues.

I keep trying to fit in a weekend when me and the luxe kids can sneak down to Florida for a few days of R&R. But weekends are always filled with crazy activities, commitments and now a luxe son MUST, Little League Baseball. Yikes! But before Baseball season gets in full swing, we will pile up in the truck and head on down to Florida. I have family there, but before visiting them, I found the perfect spot to relax while also learning a little American history.

St. Augustine, FL is America's oldest city and is the first stop Spanish Explorer, Ponce de Leon, made when he discovered America. It is gorgeous and chock full of historical sites: the original Fountain of Youth, the oldest fort still standing in America, beautiful Spanish architecture, and gorgeous pristine beaches.

Spring is all about layering sheer diaphanous fabrics for fabulous day and night-time looks. I am excited about the trend, but before we delve into the wonderful world of sheer fabric, a word of caution: please use your absolute best discretion when wearing sheer fabric. If you work in a business or business casual environment, skip it altogether on the bottom, and wear a jacket or sweater on top with your sheer shirt. It really says I am pushing the envelope. I have a number of sheer shirts, but most of them never make it to the office unless they are under jacket. Enough said. Last fall I saw a sheer plaid shirt, the Living Room Lodging. It is a sheer plaid shirt. I love the sheer take on a classic. Plaid says preppy, but the sheer take on it eases any stiffness the shirt might otherwise have. The Living Room Lodging has a tabbed back and tabbed sleeves that you can roll to the elbow. It is a mandarin-collared Henley-style shirt that buttons only to the midsection. I would hardly lounge around my living room in this sporty number, it deserves to be worn out. Pair it with some Frye boots and leggings for a a fun weekend look or underneath a black suit and with a thin necklace for office attire. The Living Room Lodging is currently is out of stock, but fingers crossed it will be returning to Modcloth soon, selling for $ 37.99.

I received some of my favorite Lancôme staples recently: Lancôme Noir Artliner eye liner and Hypnose Custom Volume Mascara.

Lancôme's Artliner is phenemonal. It is the only eyeliner I use because it is so easy. You simply glide it on and it goes on like a dream. A couple of strokes and you are done! The eyeliner tip is so precise.

Hynose Drama Mascara is one of my favorite as it does give crazy volume to your lashes.

I have to admit, I was not really on board with the new slipper trend. Those slippers are highly reminiscent of the house shoes that my Grandfather wears. I am not keen on men wearing them; however, I do like the look on women, particularly when the toe is slightly shorter than the more trendier versions and when worn with ankle-length pants and casual knit sweaters. There is an entire range of overpriced ones, - cute but overpriced. When trends are relatively new and of the moment, you may not want to immediately jump on the bandwagon and hand over your entire paycheck. Lulu's has the perfect answer to that. BB Dakota By Jack: A Blue Dress That Cures The Blues

Cobalt blue might have been the Pantone color two or three years ago, but it really is a beautiful blue that warrants wear even if the color for this year is Honeysuckle or some other orange ( I cannot remember.) It is such a rich blue, anything in cobalt is definitely worth hanging on to. Cobalt is a blue that actually makes me happy; consider it a blue to cure the blues. I am talking true retail therapy, here. Okay, that was cheesy and I digress. I ran across this BB Dakota cobalt blue dress and you know what I said, "I have to have it." Perfect for early summer, the BB Dakota by Jack Dublin Blue Dress is a mid-thigh length dress with kaftan sleeves. The low slung v-neck leads to buttons that stretch the entire length of the dress. A belted sash draws attention to the waist and creates a waist where one may not otherwise have been. The dress is sadly unlined but fits true to size. If you work hard, be sure to always treat yourself. It can be a tube of lipstick or a great pair of shoes. You deserve it!

My classic pumps of choice are Stuart Weitzman. Not that I don't love Christian Louboutin or other brands. Stuart Weitzman to me is always in style, classic, afforable and just comfortable.

I have been looking for a nude pump to add to my "wardrobe staples" and the Stuart Weitzman Platswoon patent nude pump does not disappoint. They look great on my feet!

Plus these pumps come with a mini-platform and although they are 4 inches they feel super comfortable.

I love how the nude color is a great contrast to my skin. They really stand out!

Target gets more and more exciting with each passing year. From Anna Sui to Thakoon to Rodarte to Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Mini to Missoni, and now Jason Wu. Have you seen the looks? I hope you have. I do not think I am breaking any news here, Jason Wu's line for Target promises to be great. The line certainly warrants the attention of the Missonicolloboration , even with Missoni being a more established design house than Wu. Jason Wu has achieved monumental success in a short amount of time thanks to the First Lady's choice in Wu's textured chiffon ball gown that she wore to the Inaugural Ball. Wu's target line is equally fun and classic, ranging from sleeveless full-skirted dresses to structured retro handbags. The line hits February 5th. After the Missoni madness, I would suggest that you make your purchases in store the day of February 5th rather than attempting to make them online or after that day.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to view the new Spring 2012 Tiffany Leather Collection. The Tiffany and Co. Atlanta store had the special honor of being the first Tiffany store to debut the new collection. This Collection is beyond gorgeous!

Tiffany Leather Collection designers, John Truex and Richard Lamberston were in the store to great guest and sign Tiffany boxes and handbags. Nice! They were gracious enough to grant Luxetips! a brief interview about the new collection. If you don't know, John and Richard founded and operated the famous, Lamberston Truex, before joining Tiffany. Lambertson Truex created beautiful leather accessories and they won the prestigious CFDA Accessories Designer of the Year and the ACE Award for Design Excellence for their brand.

Luxetips!: What was the inspiration in creating this new Tiffany Leather Collection?

John Truex and Richard Lamberston: The Almafi coast was the inspiration for this new collection. As you can see we use a lot of the orange and of course, Tiffany Blue, in this collection. The orange and blue is reminiscent of the rich colors on the Almafi Coast.

Luxetips!: How did this collaboration with Tiffany come to fruition?

John Truex and Richard Lamberston: Tiffany knew of our brand, Lambertson Truex, and our reputation for fine leather goods. We had many conversations and eventually we received an amazing opportunity to sell our brand to Tiffany while also becoming creative visionaries for the new Tiffany Leather Collection.

Luxetips! Can you tell me more about the materials used to create the handbags?

John Truex and Richard Lamberston: We used a high grain leather that is of high quality and representative of the Tiffany Brand. We like to use leather that can be manipulated into something esthetically pleasing and that is the right fit for the Tiffany Man or Woman.

And here are the goods. Tiffany Blue everywhere!

This gold clutch was absolutely my favorite piece. The hardware with the little touch of Tiffany Blue was simply divine. So classic.

Despite life circumstances, always maintain a spirit of positivity.

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend a media dinner at the new Frank Ski's Restaurant and Lounge here in Atlanta, GA.

At Frank Ski's patrons can enjoy dinner in the main dining room or enjoy cocktails in the red light illuminated lounge.

The food at this restaurant is American classic. However, in my opinion, the best feature is the full wine cellar and extensive wine list. Fantastic.

We had an opportunity to sample most of the appetizers, an entree, dessert and of course fabulous wine.

Here is our menu.

The absolute best appetizers on this menu were the fish tacos, calamari and sweet potato tater-tots in that order. Delish!

The Cabernet that was paired with our meal was beyond! It was so good, I had to take a picture of the bottle.

I chose the herb roasted chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and cabbage as my entree. It was well seasoned and tasty.

Some cool features of Frank Ski's is the DJ booth in the main dining area. In the late evenings, guest DJs spin and create a party atmosphere.

The food was very good. Frank is a gracious host and really takes pride in the food and the service.

Luxe baby has been looking so cute lately and I decided to do some posts on her little outfits. When I purchase clothes for my kids, I always buy high, low and in between. Usually the high end items include shoes and outwear. The low end items are from Target, but great quality and good for playing. And in between includes the GAPs, JCrews, etc.

I love GAP for kids because the clothes are stylish and of very high quality. The clothes are made well and can take a beating and keep on ticking. Luxe baby looooves GAP hoodies and she choose this zip-up hoodie with the word GAP in metallic purple. She has good taste!

Luxetips Annual Best of (2011) List!

I am slowly working my way back into mainstream. I have to make an appearance in the office today and of course the luxe kids won't let me be sad. They are little rays of sunshine.

But I had to appear for my annual "Best of" List for the year 2011. 2011 was a hard year, but there were still some products that rocked my world. This year instead of doing 12 to coincide with my "12 Days of Luxetips Before Christmas Posts", we are doing 10...( I am a little late). Check them out!

1. HEXBUGS

Luxe son and I discovered HEXBUGS at Blogher 2011 in San Diego. They are tiny robotic creatures that behave like a bug. These tiny robots scurry about, turn, and flip on their back and back again. My son loves them. They also come with a glow in the dark Habitat that allows the Nano to roam freely while performing cool tricks! Hexbugs are designed to give kids a positive experience with robotics at an early age. Love it!

2. Hotel del Coronado Resot, San Diego, CA.

I visited Coronado Island and discovered the Hotel del Coronado Resort and fell in love. Simply gorgeous! I am so looking forward to taking the luxe kids back to this wonderful resort. How can anyone resist a beach front property with tons of shopping, good food, sunny skies, dolphins, and fantastic events? Lovely.

3. Effie's Paper.

My style and BAP Icon, Kalyn Johnson is the creator of Effie's Paper. I love writing thank you notes and personal cards to family and friends. I keep cute stationary in my kitchen draw. However, Effie's Paper takes cute to another level. Effie's Paper is modern, chic and fashionable. Love them!

4. GAP 1969 Super Lightweight Legging Jeans.

I love Paris Amour! Now I thought I graduated from Bath and Body Works after college. However, Paris Amour has become my new obsession. The scent is fruity and floral with hints of musk. When I wear the lotion, men stop me in my tracks and compliment my scent or ask me what am I wearing. Paris Amour is a big winner in 2011...hands down.

7. Lancôme's Trésor Midnight Rose

A twist on the iconic Tresor fragrance. It is light but still with a hint of seduction.

8. Pulisse Lip Comfort Daily Lip Nourisher.

I first started using this product in 2010 and I still use it. It is by far the best lip balm I have ever used. This nourisher keeps my lips baby skin soft. Pur~lisse Pur~lip comfort is petroleum free and contains Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Rice Bran Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E lavish moisture.

9. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20.

I love this product! It is lightweight and you can use a little or a lot depending on the amount of coverage needed. Plus it includes SPF20.10. Hunter Boots!I love my Navy Hunter boots! They are great for the rain, ice, snow or simply when I want to keep my feet warm while running errands. I get tons of compliments from women and men alike. Everyone loves them.hunte boots

Unfortunately, we did not have any trick-or-treaters that year, and it showed all along my midriff. I found myself eating two or three cups a day. Boy did it add up. By the end of the Holiday Season, I had put on a solid ten pounds. This year, while trying to be conspicuous with my little baby bump, I found a foil that works equally well for hiding the holiday cheer that may creep its way around your middle- peplum tops. If I have not said it before, I cannot say it enough, peplum tops are a classy way to stay sexy. The fitted waists and flared bottoms make peplum tops romantically feminine and functional to boot. A peplum top is suitable for work under a blazer with pencil skirt or for the weekend with platform pumps, ankle length pants, and a tough leather jacket. Office Party Do's and Don'ts: Do Get The Velvet Sleek Boot Cut Pant From White House

I cannot believe it is that time of year again. It seems like just last year I was giving a sequin tutorial, and here we are again, 365 days later with sequins still at the top of the holiday go to list. With all the holiday merriment and eggnog abounding, I thought I would share some tips for the upcoming office holiday party:

1. Do wear color! There is no need to feel the need to stick to your basic black when there are so many fun jewel tones this season. 5. Do NOT imbibe to the point where the holiday office party subsequently becomes a dry event. Abusing free liquor has its costs. After you hit that second, you should slow down, or better yet just stop. If you want to get sloppy, try it in the comforts of your home. My favorite festive pick for warm cozy nights at home, Southern Comfort's Vanilla Spice Non-alcoholic Eggnog. Simply add your own libations.

Luxetips Style! Child of the Rose Lucy Dress

Hello Divas!

I know there has been a hiccup in blog posts. I have had major life issues. My Mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on October 26 and passed away on December 1st. It was the most heartbreaking event of my life. I hope to one day get over it, but it was so quick and she was only 59. She was an incredible woman and will always be my role model and hero. Thank you for being patient and continuing to check in with Luxetips.

I am not sure whether Hubby and I will do the dramatic Mommy poses where he kisses my belly and I hold myself, but you know me, I already have an outfit for the photoshoot if we opt for those pictures. I am head-over-heels for the Child of the Rose Lucy Maxi Dress by Wildfox. You already know with a name like Child of the Rose, the dress conjures earthiness, romanticism, and the ethereal quality of Sookie's kind (I mean like fairies in "True Blood.") I felt as though I was floating when I tried the dress on. I know, a bit more bohemian than you would expect for my classic style, but what can I say, I am the Style Chameleon and chameleons like to change it up. The Child of the Rose Dress is a blood orange maxi dress with rose applique along the sides (I will have to tell you about paneling later but it is my new BFF.) The maxi dress is asymmetrical with a fishtail. Believe it or not fishtails are going to big this upcoming Spring. They started to peak early this Fall and I do expect to see more of them, but more on those magical hemlines later. I love the Child of the Rose Dressbecause of its asymmetry, but also the thin-knit, wispy blend of acrylic, nylon and wool that wears like fine mohair or angora and loosely clings to the frame. My first instinct, like many expecting mothers was to cover myself under the loosest layers possibly, but so many people are bucking this trend and for all the better. You should be proud of your baby bump and this soft bold color makes me want to show off my belly bump. Don't be put off by the fact that I want to wear it during my maternity either, the Child of the Rose Dress is not maternity wear. It is for any daring earth mama. Luxetips Style! My Grownup Wishlist- from Assouline to Zara

I have to honestly say that the second part of this year really caught me for a surprise. I have not been shopping as much. Life happened fast and I became temporarily distracted, for the better though. I still love pretty things, I love creating new looks, and I did miss you guys, but I needed a break from the shopping and the temptation of shopping. After haven taken a nice hiatus from weekly visits to TJMaxx and daily perusals of Modcloth, I think I found my happy medium, and of course just in time to make my Christmas list. This is what I want:

1. The Assouline Coca Cola book, priced at $ 65.00 which is also carried in a much more expensive 250 page special edition for the mere cost of $650.00. As an Atlanta native I love all things Alantan, and Assouline offers a wide array of show-worthy coffee table books. There are a ton of Assouline books that I want to my collection but the Coca Cola is first priority.

2. Michael Kors Goldtone short chunky necklace- I was watching an old episode of "A Different World" and I saw Whitley Gilbert, the quintessential Southern Belle in her cream pants and turtle neck with a gold chain link necklace. Then I saw pictures of my husband’s aunt in her fur and gold link chain. It made me nostalgic for 80’s luxe and the whole Dynasty era. A bold chain link can take a basic outfit far, and it is a classic look that will last a lifetime. There will never be a need for you to put it away, sell it, or give it away; should you feel the need to give one away, I am a happy taker. 3. The Callapod Charger.- I abhor clutter and love anything that is multi-functional. When I travel, I pack a million adapters. Free People's Liberating Flats

My wardrobe staples, particularly tall boots, are rapidly changing with my growing belly. Yes, I am still rocking the heels for as long as I can, but with ample protest from Hubby. I have been on the hunt for some cute flats to work into my wardrobe for when I will have an additional 25 pounds to carry or run after, and I found the most adorable and comfortable looking flat in buttery soft leather.
